A letter from the Investor

Investor, you have some explaining to do.
This is not my Cat Tree.

By The Human
Morning Scratch investor

Dear Morning Scratch readers,
Our floors were to be finished Friday, which is why I picked up the kitty reporters on Thursday. But, of course, the floors aren't finished. In fact, the installer screwed up the sealant. So, the cats are confined to a bathroom upstairs for who knows how much longer ... hopefully not more than a week.

In this note, I also announce a temporary suspension of The Morning Scratch. Our new-home problems are much more extensive than I have let on, and the joys of my cats that I wish to share are being overshadowed by the house. This house should have never passed city inspection, and we are having to redo fairly large portions of it, all while the builder believes he is not accountable for a house he built beginning to fall apart only two months after we moved in. Truly, we bought a nightmare.

We still have a lot of good news to share, and still a lot of fun and love in our lives, but as the investor, I can no longer support the reporters' project right now. I need to completely focus on how to get through this difficult task of fixing a brand-new home (new problems arise as each week goes by) and going after a builder who should be held accountable. When that is complete, or at least when it's on the right path, we will return. The staff has a lot to report!

You all have been a great support, and we will still be visiting all of you often.

Hey, Mom? You're going to live in here, too? Yeah?

Bonus pic:
Mom had a lot of grooming to do when we got home Thursday. Look at that hair ball! She wasn't even done yet ...

We understand very much, our parents just bought a house and there is a lot of stuff the inspector made seem like it wasn't a big deal but turns out it is a big deal. So take your time and we will be here.

Your Friends,

Fiona & Ali

Purrs to all of the Morning Scratch crew. We hope all of the problems get worked out.

Just put the word out and the Cat Blogsphere will attack the builder. Maybe we can all teleport over and poop on their pillows!

And the post from Anonymous looks promising. Go get those guys! :) ... Can't wait till the Scratch is up and running again.

The bathroom can be quite a fun room. Batting toys in the tub is sort of fun. We wish you could have the run of the house and we are very sorry you and your family have to put up with this. We know it is stresful for everyone and just absolutely not fun at all.

(((hugs))) from your old pals

Oh dear a kitties life should be full of fun and mischief....not problems like you and your beans are facing! So sorry for all that you guys.
I would hiss at the bad builder guy....but my Victorian sensibilities make me think that one over before I could do it....so just know... I wish I could!

I so sad you are having to suspend for awhile, but I understand. And I can't believe you come to the Modesto area so much! I can't wait for Mom to check out those cool places you told us about.

I am so sorry the house is a nightmare! I really hope that the situation moves in a better direction - SOON.
The pictures, especially the last one, are priceless. That is one BIG ball of fur.

Yikes! The builder should definitely be responsible for all this. I hope the work goes smoothly and that soon this will just be a memory.
